Let's get started planning your wedding ceremony! It's so exciting, but also a little overwhelming. You want your wedding ceremony to be special, unique, a personal expression of yourselves, memorable, meaningful, and dignified. You might know what you DON'T want but are less certain about how to express what you do want to include in your ceremony. That's where I can help you!!
OUR FIRST PLANNING MEETING
We can meet either at your place or mine, which ever you prefer. You bring with you your birth certificates and if applicable, documentation of legal termination of a previous marriage. This will mean we can complete the official government document: Notice of Intention to Marry (NOIM). To download a copy of this form go to Favorite Links page for the web address.
Then we discuss your ideas and wishes for the wedding ceremony.
I will give you a template of a typical ceremony so you are aware of the general outline as a starting point, then share with you the many ways you can personalize the content.
I will give you a package of resources including a booklet containing many different wording options for each part of the ceremony, and another booklet of Readings and Reflections to consider. You can take time to digest all this informtion and make some choices prior to our next meeting.
OUR SECOND PLANNING MEETING
You come to this meeting having read the information provided, and now your ceremony is beginning to take shape. Once I have a clear idea about the choices and decisions you have made, I will type out your ceremony and e-mail it to you for further fine tuning until it is just perfect.
Prior to your wedding day, we have a practice of your ceremony at the chosen venue. This ensures everyone knows exactly what is going to happen on the day. If we have decided to use my portable sound system, a practice using the microphone and playing any music required is helpful.
At this pratice, you will sign the Declarations, a document which must be signed before you marry.
I will arrive at your wedding venue in plenty of time to set up. I can provide a clothed signing table if required. There are three documents to be signed by you and your two adult witnesses. I will set up the sound sytem if required and organize the music. I will have a presentation copy to keep of your ceremony and your Marriage Certificate will be calligrified.
My all-inclusive fee will be paid in two parts, half at the first planning meeting, and the balance at the practice
